About the Campaign

Appreciation, Recognition and Support

careAware is a provincial initiative that aims to raise awareness in support of Manitobans who provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends. These family and friends provide full or part time unpaid personal care, support and assistance to people of all ages with disabilities, medical conditions, mental illness and frailty due to age. Caregivers can be children, parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, siblings, friends and neighbours. They come from every ethnicity and every region of the province or country.

Through the careAware campaign, we aim to better support caregivers by:

  • Increasing awareness of the contributions and issues faced by caregivers;
  • Inspiring individuals, organizations, health professionals, businesses and communities with information, practical ideas and user-friendly resources on how they too can take action to better support caregivers;
  • Serving as a resource for caregivers and others to learn more about the programs and services available in Manitoba;
  • Acting as a place where individuals, organizations, health professionals, businesses and communities can share their messages on how they are becoming more careAware;
  • Letting caregivers across Manitoba know that they are not alone and that we value their daily contributions.
